Alton Man sentenced after he was guilty of shooting the 13-year-old

Alton, Ill. (First alarm 4)-a 20-year-old man was sentenced to 35 years in prison, after he was guilty of shooting Ra'niya Steward for the first degree.

Steward stood on the veranda of the house of a relative in the 900 block of the Highland Avenue when she was shot in the head on February 3, 2024. Later she died of her injuries.

The 20-year-old Rayan M. Colvin owed himself guilty of making first-degree murder on Thursday. The investigators said that Colvin was not a shooter, but nearby when the shootout took place, and made the weapons available that were used in the shootings.

Four other suspects are charged with Steward's death. Your cases are still pending.
