Celtics rejected the RJ Barrett offer from Toronto Raptors for Jrue Holiday

The Toronto Raptors were reportedly ready to separate from RJ Barrett and number 9 in the draft of the last month in an aggressive striving to Jrue holiday.

According to Jake Fischer from The stone lineWho spoke to CLNS Media Boston Sports Network has assumed that he offered a package with Barrett and the ninth overall selection to Boston Celtics to acquire the veteran watchman. The deal reported on the Treaty of Barrett's 57.3 million US dollars over the next two years. In the end, Boston declined and decided on the holiday in the Portland Trail Blazers for Sterry Simons, whose content of 27.7 million US dollars will expire at the end of the season.

The 35 -year vacation still has 104.4 million US dollars in its contract and has already shown signs of a decline. Nevertheless, Toronto seemed to be seriously interested in acquiring the former all-defensive guard.

Previously, Toronto had included the 25-year-old in trade talks with the New Orleans Pelicans for the framework of the Brandon Ingram deal. The pelicans ultimately opted for Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk and a selection in the first round of Toronto.

Barrett remains a complicated trading chip. He is a talented but inefficient goal scorer who has made progress as a playmaker last season. However, his defense remains inconsistent, and his considerable contract continues to make it difficult to find a strong value.

Boston's decision to accept Simons about Barrett and a top 10 selection suggests how limited Barrett's market seems to be. Even if the raptors were packed with a lottery selection, they could not complete the deal.

Toronto finally kept the selection No. 9 and used it to design the striker of South Carolina, Collin Murray-Boyles.
