The One -Direction member Liam Payne, a judge in “Building the Band”, died 31, just a few weeks after filming the Netflix competition series last autumn. “Band” marks his last appearance.

When Liam Payne gave feedback to the next generation of Boy bands and groups of girls during his guest, he took a moment to make fun of his own former Boy Band One Direction.

After the newly founded group of Midnight had sung a rousing reproduction of the “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls in Episode 7 (now streaming), Payne distributed the boys on stage for their uncorographer, Helter-Skelter movement.

“We are in the Power ballad. We are looking for air information. Boy Band Central, Baby,” said Payne to the four men. He added that Shane Appell's back flip “felt a little bit laid”.

As an appeal, Payne replied that they were more instrumentalists than dancers, that a direction had a stage presence and at the same time undermined the expectations of the dance engine boy bands of an earlier generation (such as the backstreet boys by serial moderator AJ McLean).

“We are obviously amazing dancers in one direction. It is what we are known for,” he said cheeky. “George Michael was incredible to check an arena from the only standing center and literally only to do it.”

Payne then stood from his seat and confidently fluctuated side by side.

Payne, in addition to Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger from Destiny's Child by The Pussycat Dolls, saw six newly shaped groups in front of a live audience and encouraged constructive criticism, which mainly focused on demanding more on stage chemistry.

“You really have to come on stage and say your moment. Make yourself with these people for a moment; do a moment with us, (and) for a moment with yourself,” he told the participants.

“Building the band”, Payne's last TV appearance, was recorded in September 2024 just a few weeks before his death. The 31-year-old singer died on October 16, after falling from a balcony on the third floor in a hotel in Buenos Aires. As part of the One Direction-Welche Scherzinger in 2010 in the British version of “The X-Factor” broke Payne sales, billboard charts and streaming records.

“Thanks to his presence, we see his deep love for music and his unshakable commitment to help others find their voice,” said McLean in a message that opened the first episode of the “band”. “With this spirit we dedicate this series Liam and his family.”

“Making the Band” Kortler Fangirl about Liam Payne

The new Netflix competition show with 10 episodes, which streamed its final episodes on July 23, challenged dozens of young singers to form groups with strangers without ever seeing them “love is blind” style.

In episodes 5 to 7, the six acts opted for their names: 3quency, Soulidified, Szn4, Siren Society, Sweet Seduction and midnight until morning. Szn4 with Donzell Taggart, Aaliyah Rose, Cameron Goode and Katie Roeder is the only group of mixed genders.

After the competent but slim connected Alison Ogden, Elise Kristine and Haley Gosserand from Sweet Seduction started the night with tight choreography and high vocals for Mariah Carey's “emotions”, and were thrilled to get feedback.

When Payne welcomed her, the trio waved enthusiastically in harmony. “Hello Liam! I love you!” Gosserand raved and called out a giggle from Payne. In the past, she had unveiled One Direction poster, which once decorated the wall over her bed.

He wanted to “see more together”, maybe the power of power in the group, but “otherwise fantastic”, he explained the girl group.

During the criticism of the judges, Mason Watts announced from midnight to Morning Payne that his family had won a competition in Australia to see a direction from the front row at Madison Square Garden. “My sisters are obsessed with them,” he said. “And since that moment I wanted to be in a group. And it is a kind of full -circuit moment to be here with a group and appear before you, so thank you, man.”

Payne, always the good sport, waved one of the cameras: “Hello sisters!”

He later turned to Rowland. “I feel very warm,” said Payne.

Five people, including hotel employees and Payne's friend Roger Nores, who lived in the hotel, were charged after the episode.

Against all except two employees, accusations were dropped, the Payne allegedly supplied with drugs in the days before his death.
