Park in Hudson closure for the stream restoration project

Park in Hudson closure for the stream restoration project

Hudson, Ohio (Woio) – Darrow Road Park closes on July 21 for a stream restoration project.

The park is closed for 4-6 weeks.

The project is financed by a scholarship secured by Tinkers Creek Watershed Partner of $ 260,000. The project focuses on the restoration of a healthy, functioning electricity system.

The current ditch, which is unnaturally deep and straight, has separated from his floodplain. This loss of interaction with Auen means reduced sediment flagation, nutrient exchange and energy – all factors that are of crucial importance for the health of streams.

The restoration will help:

Restore the electricity function and create a variety of habitats in stream.

Control invasive species with the reintroduction of local species.

Check the erosion and improve the ability of the electricity to filter pollutants, which improves water quality.

Enviroscience, Inc. In collaboration with RiverReach Construction and GPD Group, the design building team is headed by the Darrow Road Stream Restoration Project. Further information on the project can be found under Darrow Road Stream Restoration: Improving water quality.
