El Paso Music Fair illuminates mental health with live performances and wellness resources

The El Paso International Music Foundation throws a spotlight on the musician wellness and organizes a special musician health fair on Saturday with a focus on mental health.

The event will present health and wellness providers, blood provision examinations and vaccines on site as well as live musical services.

A licensed psychologist will also have a conversation about mental health in the music industry.

“So it is a trade fair for mental health that looked at the artist. So it provides resources for information for the artists,” said Jez from the band The Pie Sisters, one of the co-sponsors of the event. “It is accessible to the public. It could be friends and family. To be honest, it could be. But we wanted to be able to put together an event and work together that focused more on what we could do for the artists in their persecution of their craft. And in this case the musicians, any other kind of artist here, every creator in general.”

Everything happens from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Neep Collective in the 8144 Dyer St. in the northeast of El Paso.

The foundation said it was an opportunity for artists to check their physical and mental well -being and combine with the community that supports them.
