Wednesday was very hot and moist, with heights in the low 90s.

Much of the area was at level 2 under a risk of storm; Northwest Indiana and some southern suburbs were under a risk of level 1.

Strong winds seemed to be the greatest concern, but an isolated tornado was an option. Heavy rain can also cause a concern for some localized floods.

Floor stops in O'Hare and Midway were lifted. O'Hare had over 100 cancellations and delays of about an hour and halfway seven cancellations and delays of about 30 minutes.

From around 4 p.m., almost 14,000 comed customers were without electricity.

A tree had fallen on a car in Chicago's university village.

Trees and wires were also reported in Aurora.

In some places there were 60 to 70 miles per hour, and several tornadoes were reported in Wisconsin.

Sunlight showed a fallen tree that was uprooted from the Haymarket House in Uptown.

“I heard the crash and looked out the window,” said Demetrius Sajous-Brady, who lived in Uptown.

The immense weight at the stop on Clarendon and Buena Avenues smashed a CTA bus sub cards.

“There are many older trees in this neighborhood, so something similar happened around 2020,” said Demetrius Sajous-Brady.

In the nearby edge of Edit, a lonely car on the block was also smashed by a fallen tree. His driver was seen how he took some things out of the rubble.

The damage was quick after heavy storms blown through the Chicago area on Wednesday and trees and branches were scattered over the 15th and racine.

Beyond the city limits, an emergency tornado siren was blown to the ground in West Suburban Wheaton.

In Glen Ellyn, the crews also worked on eliminating storm waste.

In Morton Grove, a tree from the back yard of a man fell on power lines and knocked out electricity for many.

There is also the chance of storms on Thursday.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this weekend. Saturday is the day with higher rain opportunities.

There is an air quality warning for the rest of Wednesday.
