1 dead at Punta Gorda Airport; Investigation continuously | Charlotte County

An incident unfolded on Monday morning at Punta Gorda Airport, where a person died.

An employee at the airport announced Wink News that a man died on a plane when it came to Punta Gorda. He told us that the flight from Albany, NY, came in.

Another employee gave us an overview of what happened.

She said the man was happy and spoke to the flight attendants. A drink was served and then went to sleep.

When they realized that the man was dead, his body was cold.

Wink News spoke about his experiences with the flight passenger Mike Armstrong.

“He was sitting in the window seat and they just made the two people go to the back of the aircraft. The medical team came. They tried a few minutes with CPR, and they found that he was no longer with us. So they brought him to a walk and they then had it out of the plane,” said Armstrongg. “It was a bit worrying. It was an uncanny feeling on the plane because someone died while they were in this cabin with them. “

The person next to him went into the bathroom and came back. The employee said this person seemed to be with him and she checked him, but he didn't wake up.

Flight deck called Fire and Ems in advance for a “deceased person”, so that the law enforcement authorities and EMS waited at the airport when they landed.

The plane landed at 11:55 p.m. and the crews pulled it off. It took about 30 minutes. The passengers had to stay on the plane for 30 minutes while taking the body because he fell off before the aircraft was removed.

Fire Trucks Airport reacted and at least four or five officers were present to see statements from flight attendants.

When they took him away, they brought him aside until Ems could transport him so that the passengers could not see the body.

The airport, east of the Interstate 75 in Charlotte County, takes over flights from Allegian and Sun Country Airlines.

The authorities are working to determine whether this incident influences the airport operation during the day. Punta Gorda Airport houses flights from Allegian and Sun Country Airlines that could be affected.

The Charlotte County's sheriff currently examines the situation.
