According to court files, a dispute over a pioneering coastal tower led to a “probable” attempt at brib, in which a Cartier and Secret recordings were involved.

The High Court heard that one of the parties in this case blocked the entrance to a nursing home with his car in order to get his rivals to speak to him.

The case focused on ownership and financial agreements related to the Atlantis Tower in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.

Sotiris Christophi, who offered the Cartier clock before the civil court, said: “The proposal that this was a bribe or had an inappropriate purpose is completely in contradiction to my understanding and my intention.”

The court heard, like Mr. Christophi, an accountant, and Dr. Sanjay Kaushal, a nursing home holder, failed after they had financed the purchase and renovation of the tower together in November 2021.

You did this through a company called RP Design and Construction Limited (RPD).

Mr. Christophi brought the case and argued that he and Dr. Kaushal had agreed to share ownership of society in an oral agreement.

Dr. Kaushal denied this and said that Mr. Christophi's financial contribution was a loan, not an investment.

The deputy judge at the Supreme Court, Saira Salimi, rejected Mr. Christophi's demand.

The Atlantis Tower has been the landmark of the Great Yarmouth coast since its construction in the 1960s.

The intention was to convert the upper floors into 18 living apartments and then sell them.

This section of the property was previously used as a hotel.

“Block the entrance”

At the beginning of 2023, Dr. Kausal and his former friend, Mr. Christophi, in serious disagreements about the project.

Mr. Christophi had started to behave “aggressive and inappropriate”, said Dr. Causal, and he felt intimidated.

Hot sessions and phone calls were secretly recorded by Mr. Christophi, he told the court.

It was said that this included Mr. Christophi at a certain point in time, negative reviews of a nursing home by Dr. To publish causally and even block its entrance with a car.

This latter incident was a print tactic to Dr. To speak with him as the court heard.

Dr. Also causally claimed that he was even physically prevented from leaving a room during a meeting between the two.

Mr. Christophi said the BBC: “I reject every proposal that I intend to intimidate or act inappropriately.”

“I was looking for dialogue, nothing more, and when this dialogue was repeatedly rejected, I did what I thought was necessary to be heard,” he added.

In April 2023, Mr. Christophi gave the owner of the company a Cartier guard to renovate ownership, Besnik Ademaj, and handed over £ 50,000 to Mr. Ademaj.

It was made by Dr. Causal claims to arrange Mr. Adememaj to transfer his shares to RPD.

Mr. Christophi claimed that the clock and the money were a gesture of trust and friendship, which should prove good will during their discussion about the transfer of stocks.

The clock and the money were then returned in accordance with the judgment.

Judge Salimi said that it was “in the balance of the probabilities” an attempt at bribery “, which did not lead to success”.

Mr. Christophi, 53, also known as Steve, is associated with a Norwich company in the center of tax fraud allegations.

The BBC announced last year how green jellyfish from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and a series of arrests were searched.

Internal corporate documents described Mr. Christophi as a stakeholder in the company that is currently being wound up.

Corporate data show an overlap between Mr. Christophi and the Green jellyfish business, including the common rooms.

Mr. Christophi said he always had “lawful and with integrity”.

“I respect the rule of law and I respect the judgment, even if I feel that parts of my side of the story remain odd,” he added.
