Apple sues Youtuber Jon ProSser about 'Brazil

Apple is suing Youtuber Jon ProSser because he published details of iOS 26 on his channel at the beginning of this year.

Lecks are nothing new, but in this case Apple said that ProSser with Michael Ramacciotti, a product analyst and video editor at NTFTW, has worked together at a “coordinated program for burglary in an iPhone of Apple Development, the trade secrets of Apple and profit from the theft”, reports Macrumors.

Apple claims that “Ramacciotti needs money” and ProSser “promised compensation in the form of money or future job opportunities … In return for the support of Mr. ProSser, to make confidential information accessible to obtain confidential information”, according to the lawsuit, which was submitted to the California district court.

Ramacciotti was friends with Ethan Lipnik, who worked on unpublished software designs at Apple. During a visit to Lipnik's apartment, Ramacciotti found the pass code on the iPhone of the development area. When Lipnik left the house, Ramacciotti broke into the phone, called ProSser at FaceTime and let him see what was on the phone, says Apple. This information was later contained in a video that was published on ProSsers YouTube channel.

Ramacciotti allegedly used the location tracking to see where Lipnik was, and to ensure that it was not shared with Ramacciotti with prosser.

“According to forensic evidence, Mr. Ramacciotti called Mr. Proser before He decided to develop development, which indicated that Mr. ProSser was involved in the decision to access Apple's business secrets, “says Apple's lawsuit.

According to Apple's lawsuit, Lipnik has learned nothing of it when other “said Mr. Lipnik's apartment in a video recording by Mr. ProSser”. “Only then did Mr. Ramacciotti send an audio message to Mr. Lipnik, in which Mr. Prosser's compensation and her plan to acquire Apple information,” says Apple.

Apple was made aware of the scheme on April 4 via an anonymous e -mail. Lipnik also handed over the Audio message from Ramacciotti. But although Lipnik was supposedly cheated, Apple still released him, also because his work agreement says that he should not leave the development of the iPhone unattended.

ProSser started his leaks in January with reproduced renders of the new camera app. Although the renders were not entirely precise, the minimalist approach and the circular navigation rod were similar to the end product. In a subsequent April video, ProSser leaked a lot more details about iOS 19, including the liquid glass design, the newly positioned search and navigation strips, updated animation for scrolls and round app symbols. Almost everyone made it into the final iOS Build Apple, which was unveiled at WWDC 2025.

“Apple has damaged the illegal actions of the accused, which make up the knowing and deliberate embezzlement of business secrets, in relation to its competitors, also by having the advantage of learning more about Apple's software designs and unpublished functions before their publication,” says Apple in the lawsuit.

Apple tries to prevent Ramacciotti and ProSser court from revealing further business secrets and compensation.

Proser denies any misconduct. “For the recording: So the situation did not play at my end. Fortunately, I did not” plant “to access someone. I had no passwords. I was not aware of how the information was received. I look forward to talking to Apple about it,” he wrote about X.
