A short story of “three-parents babies”

This week we heard that in Great Britain eight babies were born according to an experimental form of IVF that affects DNA of three people. The approach was used to prevent women with genetic mutations from passing on mitochondrial diseases to their children.

But these eight babies are not the first “three -parents” children out there. In the past ten years, several teams have used variations of this approach to help people have babies. However, the procedure is not without controversy. Read the whole story.
