Parts of Houston may have a chaotic commuter on Friday, but tropical development opportunities are clarified


This week Houston may have changed the worst of a tropical disturbance through the golf coast, but the rain opportunities remain in our forecast on Friday.

In some parts of our consideration area, some sprinkles have already been seen from Thursday evening, which will continue until Friday.

Prediction on Friday

For Houston, the best chance of seeing rain will probably be on Friday afternoon, especially between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., since the edge of tropical moisture comes closer.

Forecast models show some scattered showers or rapid downpour for the eastern counties, but overall the total precipitation amount will remain bright – maybe only half inch up to one inch.

The heaviest rain and the largest threat to floods are forecast for areas along the border between Texas-Louisiana, which extend from Beaumont and Port Arthur to Baton Rouge.
