Luigi Mangione's lawyers say

The man's lawyers, who was accused of having put down the CEO of Unitedhealthcare last December, in a new Court in which the Manhattan public prosecutor's office wrongly submitted the medical documents of Luigi Mangione by his insurance holder.

In a letter submitted on Thursday, lawyers from Mangione said that the Manhattan public prosecutor received over 120 pages with information from Aetna, including information about “different diagnoses and specific medical complaints made by Mangione”, without the knowledge of the court or defense team.

The public prosecutor does not properly forced Aetna to hand over the medical documents of manions directly to his office without facilitating the court from the court.

“The district prosecutor incorrectly invented a date of court – May 23, 2025 – and designed a fraudulent summons that Aetna, if there was no documents at this point, the court despised,” said the letter. “Then, instead of giving the documents to the court, as the already fraudulent summons demanded, the district prosecutor Aetna asked to give the documents directly to the district prosecutor, whereby the court was deliberately excluded from the prime process and stated that the district prosecutor would secure these confidential medical documents.”

The defense of mangion also argues that the information attorney obtained from Aetna is not relevant for the state's criminal proceedings.

“As the defender knows, people have only requested very limited information from Aetna and Aetna who incorrectly have additional materials,” a spokesman for the public prosecutor told CNN. “We deleted the materials as soon as we became aware of them and brought them to defense and attention to the court.” The da office said that it would continue to respond in a court registration.

The defense has asked the court to prevent evidence hearing and access to all communications between Aetna and the public prosecutor.

“Aetna received a summons for certain medical documents and we have adequately made it available,” an Aetna spokesman told CNN.

Mangione faces a federal court before the death penalty, where he is charged with murder and other charges in connection with the death of the CEO of Unitedhealthcare Brian Thompson.

He has not guilty to all federal and state allegations against him.

The shootout in New York City and the subsequent demales, which ended in Pennsylvania, attracted national attention when the investigators shared details about mangion's alleged writings and the words “delay”, “refuse” and “depose”, which were written about balls that were found on site.

According to an earlier jurisdiction, diary entries from Mangione reveal the detailed thinking of the 27-year-old before the murder.

In August 2024, about four months before he allegedly shot Thompson in Midtown Manhattan, Mangione wrote in his diary: “After all, I am confident what I will do.

“The goal is insurance. It checks every box,” he continued on August 15th.

The authorities said that Mangson allegedly shot down on a busy sidewalk when Thompson went to a hotel in which his company's investor conference organized.

From 2014 to 2024 it was not insured by Unitedhealthcare, according to the prosecutors, but at the time of his arrest, Mangione allegedly had a handwritten notebook that gave in “hostility to the health insurance industry and in particular from wealthy managers”.

In recent years, Mangione has suffered from troubling back pain and, according to a friend, RJ Martin and online postings, has been an operation to treat them.

Around 2022 Mangione moved to Hawaii, where he lived in a common and common room in Honolulu for about six months, Martin told CNN in December 2024.

Martin said that he did not get in touch with Mangione and recently exchanged texts with him at the beginning of the year. Mangione told him that he had undergone back surgery and sent him a photo of his X -ray, which, said Martin:

And on the website Review website Goodreads reported Mangione to read or read a number of books about coping with chronic back pain. He was also associated with handwritten notes, in which he set his training routine, in which he stated that he suffered from spondylolisthesis, the slip of a spine in the spine.

Contributions from a now deleted Reddit account in which the name of Mangione is not listed, but many of its biographical details inluded to its university, his age, his main and health state speaker that the user had intensified the back pain in connection with spondylolist thesis since childhood, but has intensified the condition.

In 2023, the user wrote that he had undergone spine surgery, which improved his symptoms. The user did not seem to publish via health insurance in connection with the operation or combine treatment with Unitedhealthcare.

It is unclear whether one of the AetNA recordings was related to prosecutors with a back injury or an operation. In the defense letter, however, the public prosecutor was at least partially checked in order to examine the privileged and protected medical documents of Mangione.
