The US Agriculture Ministry has released around 70 contractors from abroad like China after a national security check.

“The people who work on these contracts from concerns can no longer work on USDA projects,” said the department.

The announcement was made more than a month after Senator Tom Cotton, R. Markansas had introduced a legislative template in which the federal financing for laboratories or research centers with nationals from China, Russia, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela or North Korea is to be banned from agricultural research.

Patrick McCann, Cotton press spokesman, said the Senator believes that “nationals from controversy nations such as the Communist China have no business activities for the federal authorities of our country”.

“This applies in particular to our food supply chain and our national defense,” wrote McCann in an e -mail.

Senator Cotton, the chairman of the Senate's intelligence agency, today wrote to Defense Minister Pete Hegseth and requested information about contractors to provide employees in China to carry out services for US defense systems.
