Almost 50 years later, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham still cannot stir.

Two parts of a stormy love relationship that brings the success of Fleetwood Mac, Nicks and Buckingham, the fans of the rock band of the 1970s this week as a tizzy when they pointed out a possible reunification.

In separate articles on social media, they shared a handwritten exchange.

“And when I go forward …” A note that was published on Nicks' X account on July 17, apparently read in her loopy cursive.

“I will meet you there,” replied a twin message that was posted on Buckingham's page in different handwriting.

Together, the notes form a line of “Frozen Love”, a song from the 1973 album “Buckingham Nicks”, their first and only joint venture before he came to Fleetwood Mac the following year.

Elsewhere on the Internet, Mick Fleetwood, a drummer and founding member of the band, fanned flames and divided a video on Instagram from which he heard the track.

USA TODAY has made a comment on representatives of Nicks and Buckingham.

While Fleetwood Mac hit the top of the charts as a collective in the 1970s and now enjoy the widespread popularity, it is the difficult personal and musical tie between Nicks and Buckingham, which continues to arouse a cultic interest.

As an on-and-off-a-off couple at the highlight of the success of the band, her love relationship with the legend, especially after “rumors”, an album from 1977, which was littered with texts about betrayal and littered with infidelity, offered a raw, if not cryptic look into her problems.

Tracks such as “Silver Springs” and “Go Your Own Way” are remembered as a testament for a brilliant but restless musical pairing, whose personal animus have bled into their art. In the years since then, Nicks and Buckingham have buried the hatchet, but rarely performed together.

Now the fans hope that their social media posts will tease again. Whether it is an album, a radio single, memoirs or just a common performance, like the best Fleetwood Mac projects, remains a rumor.
