Houston crime: 64-year-old serial burglar wanted

A man with a long story of burglaries is sought for further burglaries in the Houston area.

Houston Crime: Serie burglars wanted

What we know:

After his criminal history, Steven Campbell has been in and outside of prison since 1977. It's all for the same crime: burglary of a dwelling.

“He is a serial burglar,” said Alan Rosen. “He is known for this. All of his cases include a break -in.”

According to court files, Campbell was sentenced to prison for a total of 267 years.

“This time I really hope that the system keeps it a bit,” said Rosen. “The last stay he did for 13 years in prison, got out and started doing exactly the same thing.”

Boil your doors

Why should you take care of it:

Constable Rosen says that Campbell reports on opening through activated doors and Windows.

“He goes along the street, sees whether car doors are open, sees whether a front door is open, sees whether a garage is open and then goes in and is braked,” he says.

The FOX 26 reporter Randy Wallace spoke to a homeowner of montrose who had caught Campbell on his surveillance camera and stole his wife's bike from her garage.

“We have a free -standing garage and there is a side door and we left the door open,” said the homeowner.

The homeowner who wanted to remain anonymous said that the burglar used a ladder to move a surveillance camera. A surveillance photo shows the burglar who bears the helmet of the woman's wife while he is on the ladder.

It believed that he stole the bike, thrown it over a fence and then used the ladder to escape.

Two hours later, Detective says that Campbell sells the bike in a pawnshop, about 10 minutes from the place where he stole it. The homeowner says you got the bike back two days later.
