Remco Simepoel Abandons Tour de France early in level 14

Luchon-Superbagneres, France-Tour de France Contender Remco Simeepoel withdrew on Saturday during the last Pyrenä stage.

The 25-year-old Belgian driver, who was third overall, fought early when the Peloton faced another hard day from Pau to Luchon-Superbagnères during the 14th level 14.

The Olympic champion, who wore the white jersey for the best young driver, was falling on the rise of the Turmalet promotion. It was the first of four large mountains on the day of the day, including the last ascent to the Superbagnères ski area, which is more than 7 miles long.

After distributing fans, the time trial champion climbed from his bike and climbed out of his Soudal Quick-Step team to a car and pulled back from the race.

Sidepoel won the opening time trial of the tour, but had a hard place in the Pyrenees. After fighting the clock against Peyagudes during the upward race on Friday, he had managed to take third place in the general classification, more than seven minutes behind the race director Tadej Pogačar.

Mattias Skjelmosis, a good climber from the Lidl Trek team, was also abandoned after a crash at the beginning of the stage.

The race ends on July 27th in Paris.
