A 10th person died after a fire devoured a facility for assisted living in Massachusetts almost a week ago, the authorities said.

The fire broke out on the evening of July 13th at Gabriel House Assisted Living Living Facility in River, about 50 miles south of Boston.

The 66 -year -old Brenda Cropper died of her injuries on July 18. The public prosecutor in Bristol confirmed on the morning of July 19. She had been taken to the hospital in critical condition since the fire.

“Her death was expected,” said the DA's office in an explanation.

The office of the DA previously wrongly reported her death after it was “misunderstanding with a medical authority”.
