Wildfire Rauch leads to warnings for air quality in a large part of Manitoba this weekend

Smoke from forest fires leads to poor air quality and reducing visibility throughout Manitoba this weekend.

Environmental and climate change Canada gave a warning for a large part of Manitoba on Saturday morning and advised people to limit their time outside the outdoor activities due to poor air quality.

The warning covers the PAS, Thompson, Flin Flon, Dauphin and other communities in Manitobas Interlake, north and west.

The Federal Authority said that the health of everyone in strong smoking conditions is at risk, but pregnant people, infants, seniors and people with underlying chronic health conditions are likely to be more affected.

According to the Environment Canada, people can have slight symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation as well as headaches or a slight cough. The more serious symptoms that are less common include gasping, chest pain or heavy cough.

Environment Canada advises people to keep windows and doors closed as far as possible. If you have to spend time outdoors, the Federal Authority recommends that you limit it as far as possible, but even with reduced exposure, there can still be a health risk.

The Federal Authority forecast the Air Quality Health Health Index in Winnipeg, which will increase on a “very high risk” of over 10+ on Saturday morning from a level 2 (low risk) by the end of the day and also remains in this area on Sunday.

Environment Canada also expects the air quality of Brandon to deteriorate all Saturday. On Saturday 6 a.m., the Federal Authority forecast for Level 2 at Level 6 until afternoon – the “Moderate Risk” area.

The smoke is driven by a number of forest fires in Manitoba, which have enforced the evacuation of thousands, and prompted the province to explain the second state of emergency for the season.

According to the youngest fire bulletin of the province, which was published on Friday, the Manitoba Waldfeuer -Service reacted to 122 active forest fires in the province, which previously recorded a total of 317 forest fires, which went beyond 231 for this season.
