Cook water advice for Prince George's Co. After the main break of the water

WSSC Water released a Boil Water Advisory for several cities in Prince George's County, Maryland on Friday evening after a water capacity station was broken near the Cheverly underground station.

WSSC Water released a Boil Water Advisory for several cities in Prince George's County, Maryland on Friday evening after a water capacity station was broken near the Cheverly underground station.

WSSC Water said in a publication that a main industry with a diameter of 16 inches was discovered in the 5540 Columbia Park in Hyattsville.

According to the WSSC Water, the Boil Water Advisory affects around 11,200 customers and includes the cities of Cheverly, Seat Pleasant and Capitol Heights.

The pension service said the crews stopped the water flow on the site and added that there were currently no living customers without water due to the main water. Officials did not state an estimated time for the completion of repairs.

WSSC Water said it would open a water distribution center for customers who are affected by Boil Water Advisory in the Judith P. Hoyer Early Childhood Center in Cheverly. The train station will be reopened on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The residents in the affected areas are told that their water will bring to roller cooking for a minute and let it cool beforehand:

  • Drink
  • Brushing your teeth
  • Wash fruit and vegetables
  • Preparation of baby food and formula
  • Make ice
  • Pets

For those who are not sure whether they are affected by the advice, a card was provided.

WSSC tests rehearsals to ensure that the water is safe before lifting the Boil Water Advisory.
