Patricio Pitbull isolated from the family, distractions from UFC 318: “I can't lose”

Patricio Pitbull has an important fight in front of him in New Orleans this weekend, and that's why he decided to prepare for it in a unique way.

Last April, the former Bellator-Zwei-Division champion in the UFC debut with a possible title shot on the line, but suffered a disappointing defeat against Yair Rodriguez. Now, with a lot of years of expectations, Pitbull has decided to leave the house and the “isolating” in a house in Natal, Brazil, and only surrounded by coaches and training partners to concentrate on the fight with Dan IGE at UFC 318.

Pitbull even forgot his birthday a day after he had spoken to MMA fights.

“I was very distracted,” said Pitbull. “I think the camp had some interference from personal situations, so I decided to isolate myself and leave everything for later. A kind of break of social life and problems mainly.”

The routine in Natal was pretty much wake up, trained, recovered and trained again. Between the sessions, he brought together trainers and watched the IGE band to add new things to the next exercise.

The reason for all of these changes and concentrations, he explained, is simple.

“I can't lose. That is the reason,” said Pitbull. “I decided to leave everything that has taken away my focus, even for a few minutes. My eldest son comes here and visits me, and that is because he is already training and behaves. The younger one, I meet him a few times during the week during the week with his mother, but only for a few moments. If it is time to rest.

“I have debuted in the UFC, an organization that we have been fighting for many years, and there was a great expectation in this area,” he continued. “Yair Rodriguez is not a random guy, he is a TOP 5, he has been an interim champion and would fight [Alexander] Again Volkanovski. Pitbull was not satisfied with his performance in Miami and he believes that IGE's combat style will lead to an exciting performance of both athletes. During a 24-6 route with Bellator, Pitbull scored 14 placements and won title in a spring weight and lightweight. Six of IGES 11 Octagon victories came over an interruption.
