Maryland thunderstorms observe in force until 10 p.m.

St. Mary's County, Md. – The national weather service has published A Heavy thunderstorm clock For St. Mary's County and the surrounding area, effective until 10:00 p.m. Tonight, Saturday, July 19, 2025.

The advisor, published in the late afternoon, includes a large part of the southern Maryland Aand several counties in central, north and northwest virginia. After the warning, storms that develop in the region can create harmful winds, hail and lightning.

On site, the clock comprises the cities of Lexington Park and California, MD, whereby the storm conditions are expected to escalate during the early evening. The residents are asked to stay inside if possible and to monitor the conditions through local weather sources or emergency warnings.

In Virginia, the Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Greene, King George, Orange, Spotsylvania, Cupeper, Stafford and Madison extends in Virginia.

This includes the cities of Culpeper, Crozet, Dahlgren, Falmouth, Fredericksburg, Gordonsville, Madison, Orange, Spotsylvania Courthouse and Stanardsville.
