Seattle against San Jose (July 19, 2025) PREGAME

The earthquakes and Seattle Sunders in San Jose both played in the MLS game on Wednesday.

And not happy about it either.

The teams who are supposed to meet in Seattle on Saturday both felt like doing it better.

The earthquakes (7-8-8, 29 points) tied the FC Dallas 2-2, and Josef Martinez von San Jose scored in the 86th minute, just a minute after the visitors took the lead. Martinez also supported the goal of Ian Harkes in the first half.

“It was a sloppy performance at the end of both halves,” said Earthquake coach Bruce Arena, whose team won in the last four league games (0: 1-3) without a win.

“The first goal they scored we could have done this piece better. The second goal they scored have three people who have just fell asleep. I have made a really bad job.

Despite two goals and a template by Albert Rusnak, the SUNDERS (9-6-7, 34 points) wasted a lead with three goals in a 3: 3 draw with Colorado.

For the second time in a row, the SUNDER built a 3-0 lead, just to admit a few penalty in the second half.

“I am more frustrated that our team and we are able to complete games when we ascend 3-Nothing, especially at home,” said Sunders coach Brian Schmetzer, whose team is unbeaten in the last four games (2-0-2). “This goal line should have had a game.”

The rapids scored the score in the 75th minute, when Darren Yapi drove past Cristian Roldan and Jackson, both on yellow cards before lying a shot in the lower left corner of the network.

“There is always a point in the season that it weighs a bit,” said Roldan. “Whether individually or as a team. We see it in the second half after PKS admittedly and these are things that we can repair. It is not that we lose weight or something.”

The match will miss the match on Saturday for a suspension for the accumulation of yellow cards, while defender Niuhou Tolo will serve the final of his two-game ban to throw a ball in Kansas City.

The SUNDER and Earthquakes played a 1-1 draw in San Jose on March 29, with Rusnak achieving the binding goal in the 80th minute after Beau Leroux had entered the hosts in the first half.
