Manny Pacquiao returns to the ring at the age of 46 to challenge Mario Barrios on Saturday in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas (Prime Video PPV, PPV.com, 8 p.m. ET) to the WBC Welterweight title.

Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 Kos), the only eight-vision-known champion of Boxing, fought in August 2021 in a unanimous loss of decision against Yordenis Ugas when he was 42 years old. In this struggle, Ugas Pacquiao have divided overall (151-130), JABS (50-42) and Power (101-88) (101-88). Ugas also connected 59% of his power strokes.

With a victory, Pacquiao, who entered the fight as an outsider, (+210 Pro Espn -Bet) would be the oldest fighter who won a world championship title in the world weight, a record that he was already broke when he defeated Keith Thurman by shared decision in July 2019.

“I'm okay to be the outsider. I've been the outsider many times. I always bring surprises with me,” said Pacquiao in Las Vegas during a press conference on Wednesday. “I've been a challenger many times and it is always the same feeling. I am happy to take the belt.”

Barrios (29-2-1, 18 Kos), who is 16 years younger than Pacquiao, won the WBC interim belt by defeating Ugas by unanimous decision in September 2023. He made a defense before he was increased to the full defending champion when Terence Crawford cleared the belt to switch to weight. Last November, he held the title in a split tongue against Abel Ramos on the undercard of Jake Paul against Mike Tyson.

Barrios' two losses against Gervonta “Tank” Davis 2021 and Thurman in 2022. Davis, a south paw like Pacquiao, dropped Barrios twice in her fight, cut him over the left eye and stopped him in round 11.

“Manny is unique. He is not an easy style to copy in the training camp,” said Barrios. “We got a lot of different southern paws, so I feel very comfortable.

“At the end of the day he is just another man in there. Another opponent who tries to take my title.”

Sebastian Fundora also defends his WBC Junior World Championship title in a reservations against the former WBO title list Tim TSzyu. Fundora defeated Tszyu in her first fight in March 2024 by shared decision.

Oleksandr usyk Daniel Dubois in the London Wembley Stadium previously defeated the fifth round KO to regain the undisputed heavyweight championship.
