A strong defense of several players saves runs

Craig Punsell, Manager of Chicago Cubs, was at a loss.

He could not find an answer on Saturday afternoon when he was asked whether the team's 2025 version of the team had the best defense of any defense in which he was involved as a player or manager.

He said he couldn't remember much when he was a player and suspected that it was some of his later Milwaukee Brewers teams when he was her manager.

“Difficult to answer,” he said. “But I think we have a very good defense and I think we got better during the season.

“If you have a good defense, you can see how important it is and how valuable it is. We have seen it countless times. It helps your jugs and it helps to prevent run is prevented and it is a large part of the baseball.”

Sure, there will be opportunities in which the team will throw away the ball or drop a fly and look bad on the field.

But when he was in the game on Saturday evening against the Boston Red Sox at Wrigley Field, the overall work for the Cubs defense was strong this season. And it is no coincidence that on Saturday you took the best record in the National League with 58-39.

According to baseball reference, the Cubs at the Majors with the Seattle Mariners in the Prozentatz field were taken to fifth place at 0.989. The Texas Rangers were first at 0.991. The league average is 0.986.

With 38 in 821 chances, the Cubs were fifth in MLB in the neverthest category. The Rangers came first with 31 in 876 chances.

Individually, all-star Pete Crow Armstrong was one of 12 regular major League players who were still perfect with a field percentage of 1,000 and 289 putouts of the Major League leader among the Center Fielders.

The catcher Carson Kelly was at .998, the second Baseman Nico Hoerner in .995, the left field player Ian Happ and the first Baseman Michael Busch were both at .994, the right field player Kyle Tucker was at 0.989 and Shortstop Dansby Swanson was at 0.986.

The Cubs runs to COSSNEL's joy. According to the Fielding Bible, the cubs in the majors with the Atlanta Braves with 52 runs that were saved behind the Rangers were tied in second.

In the 4-1 win on Friday against Red Sox to reach the 10-game winning shop of the visitors, Tucker had a slipcase on the right. Rookie's third Baseman, Matt Shaw, stopped a hot large and crow arm strong was part of an unusual double game in which he caught and doubled Red Sox Runner Abraham Toro on the second basis.

“It's so much fun,” said Crow Armstrong about the team's defense. “You saw games from Matty and Kyle. Ian kept (Ceddanne) Rafaela a single. The middle became a few double games and so on.

“By individually, if you have defense skills that you can rely on, that's huge in itself. But if you have an entire squad who goes out there and know that you are able to take hits away, the team does better.”

The double game from Crow-Armstrong was first and second and nobody in the top of the fifth with the runners. Toro went to third place when Crow Armstrong caught Alex Bergmans Liner.

“I just made my decision too quickly,” said Toro after the game. I have to blame myself. “

Crow-Armstrong said he didn't try to decide Toro. He said it was just a routine game, and Horner marked Toto.

“I was surprised to see it, but I have two medium-sized information with whom I have a fairly large scope for mistakes in relation to throws,” said Crow-Armstrong. “It was just a Catch-and-Throw, and I had Nico in my pocket to pick up myself.”
