Houston is suing Meyerland's apartment complex for crime and security problems

Life at Jackson Square Apartments and its owners are sued for a suspected crime last year. The owners just answered last week.

Houston – An apartment complex in Meyerland is faced with a complaint for allegations for harassment crime and unsolved security issues.

Khou 11 reported on a similar lawsuit against the owners of 1901 Richmond, another complex in the area of montrose.

Life in life in Jackson Square Apartments means that according to Marquise, they have to tolerate Thomas.

“You may not have a breath in a month, you may not have any warmth in a month, there are always constant e -mails,” said Thomas.

He is also aware of the crime problems in the complex.

“On TV … You see that this body was found here, the police in this apartment or in this apartment, they literally never know what they get or what they wake up,” said Thomas.

As part of an initiative to aim at disturbing apartment complexes, the city of Houston sued the owners and real estate and tried to stop the annoyance.

A resident said that she regularly sees the crime the year in which she lived there.

“Homeless people who go through the doors of people.

The lawsuit claims that the seriousness and frequency of crimes that occur on the property last year affect the Houston police. Some of the most serious crimes are cited in the lawsuit, including two murders on October 12, 2024, which a woman left dead on May 28, 2024.

Other crimes listed between 2023 and 2025 are severe robberies, heavy attacks with a fatal weapon, the discharge of a firearm and others.

The lawsuit states that the property is not patrolled by security officers and that all vehicle and pedestrian councils are not functional. The city asks for the property to be closed for one year.

“In a sense, it is good that these apartments will hopefully work together, but what about the residents?” Asked Thomas.

The lawyers of the owner and ownership reacted to the lawsuit, rejected the allegations in the lawsuit, asked for evidence and also stated that the city's claims have no earnings.

Residents like Thomas said that they would soon hope for changes.

“Please help. Because the people who are here do nothing,” said Thomas.
