Barrios has held the WBC welterweight title since summer 2024, when he was elevated from interim status, a title he’d held since defeating Ugas in 2023. In Barrios’s first defense, he faced Abel Ramos on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, retaining the title after a split decision draw.
