Red arrows with vegetable oil to fly at Riat 2025

The red arrows flew on a popular air show with fuel from vegetable oil.

The Royal Air Force (RAF) Riat event in Fairford, Gloucestershire is currently underway and celebrates its 40th anniversary. Airplanes are exhibited from all over Europe.

The red arrows of the RAF fly on all three days, whereby 35% of their fuel is sustainable, including hydraulic vegetable oil.

The use of sustainable fuel, Senior Engineering Officer of the RAF Red Arrows Andy King, discussed: “If we scale production and increases this, the costs are actually reduced and they become more self -sufficient.”
