Pages of the Supreme Court against the University of Florida in the Pandemie Student Costs Lament for student campus fees

Gainesville, Fla. (WCJB) – The state's Supreme Court decided against the University of Florida in a lawsuit

In a five-to-two decisions announced on Thursday, the court decided that UF lawyers could not claim “sovereign immunity” when defending a claim “due to violation of implicit agreements”.

The student Anthony Rojas sued UF in 2020 after fees for the services on campus were not dispensed with, although the students were unable to use these services due to the pandemic.

The court did not decide on the advantages of the case, but only stormed the decision of the Court of Appeal, which dismissed the case. Now Rojas can try to quote whether the university has violated her contract with students.
