C2C trains are nationalized and return to public property

Alexander said that public property would tackle “deeply rooted problems” on the railroad.

She added: “A uniform network under Great British Railways will continue to do this with a railway under a brand with a mission: providing excellent services for passengers wherever you travel.”

The government hoped that the nationalization of all services in Great Britain would bring savings of up to 150 million GBP and at the same time reduce delays and cancellations.

David Burton-Sampson, the Labor MP from Southend West and Leigh, said that it would bring a variety of advantages for passengers.

“What you will notice in the long term is a better service, a more consistent level of ticketing and hopefully a further improvement in punctuality,” he added.

The shadow railway minister and the conservative Norfolk MP Jerome Mayhew said, however, he feared that the nationalization would cost taxpayers more money for increased costs for leasing shares.

He said the government “risked” successful operations for “ideological reasons”.
