Firefighters quickly contain rope walk Lane Grasfeuer in the capital

A grass fire in St. Johns on Saturday afternoon led too much smoke, but St. Johns regional did a quick job before it could do damage.

The fire broke out shortly before 2 p.m. behind Power's salvation on the Ropewalk Lane, but the firefighters were on site within a few minutes.

A passerby on a nearby field saw the smoke and alerted the workers in the shop. The smoke also spat over Sobeys and the NLC outlet.

There was no damage to the reservoir building building.

The incumbent captain Tony Kieley says that every type of fire in hot, dry conditions such as this is a problem.
