'Sleeping prince' by Saudi Arabia al-Waleed bin Khalid al-Saud dead after the 20-year coma dead


A Saudi Arabian king who spent more than two decades in a coma after a horror car crash in London died at the age of 36.

Prince Al-Waleed Bin Khalid al-Saud suffered a brain bleeding and internal bleeding in the terrible accident in 2005 when he was only 15 years old.

At the generally known as a “sleeping prince”, he was kept in the hospital on a ventilation device – but never the full consciousness again.

Prince Al-Waleed was the eldest son of Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, who confirmed his death today in a heartbreaking post on X.

He quoted a verse from the Koran and wrote: “With hearts who believed in Allah's will and decree, and with deep grief and sadness we mourn our beloved son: Prince al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz al Saud, may Allah have mercy, who died today.”

Prince Al-Waleed studied at a military university in London when he was involved in the devastating car accident.

After the accident, he was admitted to the hospital in King Abdulaziz Medical City in Saudi -Arabia's capital Riyadh, where he has stayed in a coma ever since.

Prince Al-Waleed's father never hoped that his son would one day recover completely.

He remained involved in the care of the prince and rejected the calls to withdraw life results.

The hashtag “Sleeping Prince” has widespread after the announcement on social media, and thousands offer their condolences.

“May Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled rest in peace. The deepest sympathy for his loved ones,” wrote one.

“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” said a third.

The funeral prayers for the prince will take place in the mosque of Imam Turki Bin Abdullah in Riad.
