The England star Jess Carter says she had become the victim of racist abuse online during the euro of the UEFA women.

The Löwnes defender, who has 49 England Caps, said that she would “take a step back from social media and leave it to a team with whom they can handle”.

In an Instagram contribution, she said: “From the beginning of the tournament I experienced a lot of abuse of racial. While I think that every fan is entitled to his opinion and result, I do not agree or do not think that it is okay to aim or racing someone.”

England will compete in the euro semi-final in Italy on Tuesday evening. When you win and reach the final, you will play either Germany or Spain that look at each other on Wednesday.
