The last round of the British Open is in progress and it feels like it was to lose Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler joined a massive lead of four shots in Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland on Sunday, which has him to claim his fourth career major championship and his first Claret mug. The high-ranking golfer in the world fired a bogey-free round with ease on Saturday, and nobody else seemed to be able to do a dent in his lead at all.

We have been here many times. Scheffler won all three of his other big championships after he had a 54-hole lead. He actually won his last nine tournaments when he also had the lead at that time of an event.

Matt Fitzpatrick and Rory McIlroy, who started the fourth day for the fourth day, started.

Scheffler's victory on Sunday is by no means guaranteed. There is still a lot of golf to play. But the way he works will need a lot of work to overtake it.
