Apple is expected to announce a brand new Mac mini as well as a MacBook Pro and an iMac based on the Apple M4 in just a few days, along with a few other products. The event invitation could be sent out tomorrow. We summarize once again what innovations can be expected.

Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman, who has often provided accurate information about unreleased Apple products over the past few years, learned that Apple will be holding a hands-on event for new products on Wednesday, October 30th Los Angeles will take place.

Since this event is intended to give the press the opportunity to try out new products, they logically have to be officially presented by then. This suggests a launch on October 30th, although an announcement the day before would also be conceivable. According to Mark Gurman, Apple will announce the new Macs during a live stream and publish press releases at the same time. At least the following product announcements are expected at this launch event:

  • 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro (Apple M4 / M4 Pro / M4 Max)
  • 24 inch iMac (Apple M4)
  • Mac mini (Apple M4 / M4 Pro)
  • Magic keyboard 2
  • Magic mouse 2
  • Magic Trackpad 2

The MacBook Pro and the iMac should not receive any serious changes apart from the new processor. The Mac mini, on the other hand, is rumored to have a brand new design with a smaller housing and USB-C ports on the front, but will completely do without USB-A ports. The new Mac accessories should primarily receive an upgrade to a USB-C port. As our benchmarks embedded below show, the CPU of the Apple M4 is already passively cooled in the iPad Pro (approx. 1,070 euros on Amazon) faster than the Apple M3 Pro, so Mac customers can expect a significant upgrade.
