Taylor Swift recently caused quite a stir with her “The Eras Tour”. Not only the show itself, but also the records associated with it, brought the musician one success after the next. After a short break, she recently returned to the stage – and is not the only one. Because Shakira is also in the final preparations for her next world tour.

And this is exactly what is now in the public eye. Because even before the native Colombian has even played her first show, she is regularly making history. With her tour, Shakira breaks a record previously set by Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift is surprisingly dethroned by her colleague

It is no longer a secret that Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” is the highest-grossing concert series ever. However, Shakira could potentially dispute her position. With the sale of her tickets, the “Hips Don’t Lie” interpreter is now making a more than clear statement.

As reported by “Marca”, among others, Shakira has achieved with her tour what no other female artist has achieved before her. So she plays five consecutive days in the sold-out Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City. Taylor Swift had previously set a record with a total of four shows.

It remains to be seen whether she can continue to hold a candle to the pop singer with her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour”. However, the singer is already celebrating her first success on social media:

“Mexico, five dates at the Estadio GNP. We broke the record.”

Shakira is causing trouble for her fans with new shows

At least the demand for tickets seems particularly high. This recently even led to the 47-year-old having to postpone the dates of her North American tour. To accommodate all fans, she moved all of her previously planned shows from arenas to larger stadiums. Although this wasn’t very well received by everyone.

There are numerous angry users under the announcement post on her Instagram account. One of them writes, visibly disappointed: “That was a bad decision Shakira, you could have just added more performances to the same venues.” I feel sorry for everyone who booked hotels and flights for the canceled dates.
