Staff at an expensive Japanese boutique kneel in apology after a Chinese woman was upset about “rude” service

A Chinese woman shopping at a Fendi store in Japan was so outraged by the rudeness of sales staff that four employees knelt in front of her to apologize.

While some people criticized the woman for being too harsh, she received widespread support on social media on the mainland.

The incident came to light through a series of posts by a Xiaohongshu blogger named Annie Datouzai, who claims to be a fashion specialist who studied at Columbia University and the University of Toronto.

The blogger has 8,200 followers and currently lives in New York.

During a trip to Japan, she visited a Fendi store in Tokyo to buy a wool scarf. After trying it on, she decided to buy it and requested a new one from the store’s inventory.

But a senior sales representative approached her, abruptly removed the scarf from her shoulders without permission, and then handed it to his customer, a Chinese couple.
