After a lengthy investigation, police officers arrest a man who was trafficking firearms and narcotics

In August 2024, members of the Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Team-South, consisting of troopers and officers from the Brockton, East Bridgewater and Hingham Police Departments and a special agent from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), initiated a drug investigation against Josue Torres. 38, of Brockton, for distributing large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine in Plymouth and Norfolk counties.

Investigators conducted controlled drug buys, conducted extensive traditional surveillance, records reviews and analysis, and utilized court-ordered covert surveillance. During the investigation, Torres changed addresses between Brockton, Stoughton and Randolph and made numerous drug sales in those areas.

Today, October 22nd, three search warrants were executed simultaneously in Brockton and Stoughton resulting in the arrest of Torres and the seizure of nearly 940 grams of cocaine, 280 grams of crack cocaine, a small amount of fentanyl and an unregistered/unmarked specimen 9 -mm “Ghost Cannon” loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition in a high capacity magazine.

Torres was arraigned in Brockton District Court, where his bail was revoked on pending fentanyl and cocaine trafficking charges in Plymouth District Court. He was ordered held on $150,000 bail on these new charges and is now being pursued by the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.
