A31: Kilometers of traffic jams as a man in his 20s suffers serious injuries

Emergency services were called to the westbound expressway during the evening rush hour on Wednesday, October 22nd.

A man in his 20s suffered a serious ankle injury as a result of the accident. He was taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, residents in the New Forest were stuck in mile-long queues while emergency services dealt with the accident.

The Hampshire Police spokesman said: “We were called at 5.11pm to reports of a collision involving three vehicles – a Vauxhall Vivaro, a Citroen C3 and a Volkswagen Scirocco – on the A31 westbound near Ringwood.

“A man in his 20s suffered a serious ankle injury as a result of the collision.”

The highway authority, fire department and rescue service were contacted for further details.
