Coronation Street will see a program shake-up this week as one of its episodes is dropped.

It’s not all bad news though, as the ITV soap has secured a rare weekend slot instead, on Sunday October 28th at 8pm.

Several people on the street were suspected of the crime, Mason Radcliffe was questioned and even DS Swain was caught up in the escapades.

Elsewhere: Coronation Street and Emmerdale will be seen at an earlier time than usual.

The streaming-first revamp sees them take on BBC rival EastEnders, which is usually available on BBC iPlayer from 6am.

The latest episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale will now air on ITVX from 7am before airing on ITV1 in the evening.

The change coincides with the launch of a new soap destination on ITVX, offering a wealth of content alongside the latest episodes.

The new soaps page will include dedicated tracks for Classic Coronation Street and Classic Emmerdale, as well as a biggest episodes track and a Stars of the Soaps collection.

Dramas such as Tina and Bobby (starring Michelle Keegan), Maryland (Suranne Jones) and The Long Shadow (starring Katherine Kelly) and more will also be available.

ITV confirmed that soap viewership on ITVX is increasing significantly, with both Emmerdale and Coronation Street up around 30 per cent.
