Chicago woman charged in Archer Heights shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) – A woman has been accused of shooting another woman in the southwest of the city.

Cynthia Garcia, 24, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a discharge of a firearm and aggravated assault.

Chicago police said Garcia was arrested in the 3400 block of West 63rd Street around 9 p.m. Sunday.

She was identified as the person who shot and wounded a 25-year-old woman about an hour earlier in the 4100 block of West 47th Street in Archer Heights.

It was not clear what led to the shooting.

Garcia is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
