Alpine skiing: This is how you can see Mikaela Shiffrin live at the 2024/25 World Cup season opener in Sölden

The new Alpine Skiing FIS World Cup The season starts this weekend in Solden, AustriaAnd Mikaela Shiffrin will be in action on Saturday (October 26) when the season begins with a giant slalom race.

Shiffrin starts the season chasing her next milestone: 100 World Cup victories. The 29-year-old is currently at 97 after winning the slalom at the World Cup final last season, taking her one step closer to the century mark.

After an injury-related break in the 2023/24 season, which saw the American sidelined for almost two months following a crash on January 26 in Cortina d’Ampezzo, which meant missing out on overall Crystal Globe victory, Shiffrin is back to try to win back her crown.

This year, the Colorado native is also aiming for a record-breaking ninth slalom world ranking. If she succeeds, she would be the only skier to have won a discipline globe the most times. She is currently tied for eight slalom balls Lindsey Vonn (downhill) and Ingemar Stenmark (Slalom, giant slalom).
