WWE star “puked” before crossover match

WWE

WWE’s Brutus Creed defeated Tom Lawlor at GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XI on July 28 at New York’s Roulette Intermedium.

Creed was accompanied on the show by his brother Julius, who was less successful against Matt Makowski.

Other WWE stars who also appeared on the show included Charlie Dempsey and Shayna Baszler, who competed against Royce Isaacs and Miyu Yamashita, respectively.

As Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport shows see an influx of WWE stars, Tom Lawlor spoke to TV Insider to reflect on their appearances on the independent show, saying:

“In some ways it’s good, but I’m always suspicious about the real motive behind a lot of these things.

“We’ve seen over the last 40 years that WWE does well for a while, but at the end of the day it’s about them.

“Of course there is a new regime, but I don’t know.”

Lawlor further revealed that his opponent’s nerves got the better of him before the match, stating:

“For example, I’m fighting Brutus Creed and for me I was on the A side in that fight. Brutus Creed didn’t come here to do me a favor.

“The guy puked before the game because he was so nervous. This match was about me.

“I think a lot of people will get into situations like that and demote themselves. Like, “Oh, he’s a WWE guy. He’s at a higher level.”

“It’s great to see matchups like this, but it’s really to their advantage.”

Highlights from the Creed Brothers’ GCW Bloodsport debuts can be seen at the bottom of this post.

Former WWE star MVP was recently confirmed for a match at GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XII on November 24th.

MVP has commented that he will face Josh Barnett in the current AEW star’s first match in over two years.
