Penados adds CCIW Student Athlete of the Week honors

NAPERVILLE – Just 24 hours after earning the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Year award for the second consecutive year in October, North Central junior Abigail Penados received the final honor of the year on Wednesday League Student-Athlete of the Week for the Fall Season Tomorrow.

Penados matched their perfect fall record against league opponents last Tuesday, helping the Cardinals secure a share of the regular-season conference title with their 5-2 win over North Park.

The Morton Grove, Illinois native won at #1 singles against Hanna Zethraeus with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 decision. Penados also won the doubles alongside Kensington Payne, defeating Alexandra Ristfeldt and Katja Carlberg at No. 1 6-1.
