Samsung’s latest TVs are getting AI wallpapers for their Ambient mode in a free update

Fire TV and Google TV aren’t the only smart TV platforms with fancy AI-generated wallpapers; Samsung now offers them too. The feature, which Samsung calls Generative Wallpaper, will be available on 2024 models in North America, Europe and South Korea this month before rolling out globally next year.

It’s unclear whether the new feature requires the installation of a software update or whether it will simply appear when you access your TV’s Ambient Mode, but Samsung says it will be really easy to use: Go to Ambient Mode, select the Generative Wallpaper button and then select a theme.
