Release date, trailer, story and everything else we know so far for Invincible Season 3

Invincible season 3 is coming back in 2025 – and it’s not a moment too soon. The return of Prime Video’s animated superhero hit has long been at the top of our list of most anticipated new TV shows, but given the backlash to the previous midseason hiatus, we were expecting to wait a little longer for Mark Grayson to emerge is making its way back to our screens.

To make up for lost time, here’s a cheat sheet to everything related to Invincible season 3. This includes a confirmed release date, speculation about the story (and what comic book themes it might adapt), casting rumors and comments from creator Robert Kirkman, and more.

Season 3 of “Invincible” will be released on November 13, 2019 on Prime Video February 6, 2025. Even better, there’s no midseason break this time, meaning new episodes are scheduled to air in February and March next year.

“All I can say is that we’re cognizant of the fact that this wasn’t popular,” Invincible creator Robert Kirkman said at an SDCC roundtable Visited by GamesRadar+ earlier this year due to complaints about the second season’s mid-season break. “It is like it is. You know, we’re exploring things and that’s something we’ll definitely talk about. So, you know, maybe we’ll do a manual. I don’t know. We will.” You just have to see.”

The story of Invincible season 3 – and what comic themes does it cover?

Invincible season 3 will be large. Don’t take our word for it, creator Robert Kirkman has been incredibly vocal about raising the stakes in the new season for quite some time.

But we’ll get to that in a moment. First, what can we expect from the story of Invincible Season 3 after the events of the previous season?

With Mark Grayson’s nemesis Angstrom Levy clearly defeated and Mark becoming increasingly aggressive and isolated, we suspect the upcoming season will have a much darker tone than the previous two. Season 3 of Invincible could also cover the end of the Invincible War arc of the comics up to issue #65.

Season 3 should focus on the will they have/want with Mark and Gillian Jacobs’ “Atom Eve,” while a season-ending stinger featuring the mummy-like Ka-Hor hints that it will factor into the season is, possibly as a “villain of”. the week Mark can contend with.

Of course, the (possibly temporary) alliance between Allen the Alien and Nolan could come to fruition this season. Nolan has already mentioned that he misses his wife Debbie – so a return of the Viltriumite to Earth is certainly possible. When that happens, expect a Viltrumite reaction – and possibly the introduction of the series’ Big Bad, Thragg.

Additionally, the Multiverse and Mark’s half-brother Oliver are now both wild cards in the game. What this means is unclear, but it is to be expected that further – possibly evil – versions of Markus will emerge, each of which will hold a mirror up to “our” Markus. Given the rate at which Oliver is growing, comic book fans know all too well that Kid Omni-Man could soon be in our midst…

We also know Mark Grayson I’m going to put on a new blue suit And from Kirkman’s first quotes about the new change, it’s clear that it will be a similar about-face in tone to Spider-Man’s black symbiote suit.

“He’s in a different headspace and that’s reflected in his costume,” Kirkman said diversity. “Anyone who has read the series knows that the blue suit era is the darkest and most intense and that there are a lot of really big things surrounding the blue suit.”

Whatever happens next, it’s expected to be even more epic and action-packed than the first two seasons.

“The stakes of the season are really high and the content of the season is really dense,” Kirkman said told GamesRadar+ and other press at San Diego Comic-Con. “So we have prepared a lot of stories in season 1 and season 2, culminating in season three. And so every episode feels like a finale in many ways.”

Kirkman added: “Every episode has something big, every episode has a huge conclusion, every episode has a big character development or story twist. I’m really excited to finally see season 3 because it’s going to be crazy.

The first (and so far only) teaser trailer for Invincible’s third season is an original animation in which Mark Grayson and Cecil have a terse conversation in a Burger Mart.

“What exactly have What did you do to prepare?,” Cecil tells Mark, alluding to a moment in “Invincible” season 2 in which the hero got his ass kicked — to put it bluntly — by Viltrumite Anissa (Shantel VanSanten). .

While there’s little in the way of other story teasers, Cecil makes a wry joke about the show’s midseason hiatus in Season 2. Mark replies that he’s busy writing, designing, storyboarding and voice acting. The headline: Invincible’s employees worked hard.

The trailer ends with Cecil making his own list – with Mark’s new training program. He then drops the February release date.

The cast of Invincible season 3 is expected to include most of the key players from the first two seasons. This includes Invincible himself, Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun). Additionally, the following will return: Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs), Debbie (Sandra Oh), Nolan/Omni-Man (JK Simmons), Cecil (Walton Goggins) and Amber (Zazie Beetz).

Other members of the Guardians of the Globe – including Ross Marquand’s The Immortal – are also expected to be included in the new season, as are Anissa (Shantel VanSanten) and Shapesmith (Ben Schwartz).

News of new additions has been limited, but there’s certainly a chance another Walking Dead alumni could join Invincible. That’s largely due to a 2023 Instagram post from Jeffrey Dean Morgan that shows the Negan actor posing next to two chunky Invincible compendiums. Fan speculation is in full swing, and there are two main candidates for the role of Jeffrey Dean Morgan: the Viltrumite villain Conquest or their leader Kragg.
