MTEN Preview: AAC Individual Championships

HOUSTON – The Wichita State men’s tennis team sends its standout duo Alejandro Jacome And Kristof Minarik to Rice’s George R. Brown Tennis Center to compete in the 2024 AAC Singles Championships Oct. 24-27.

Tennis players from all 11 American Athletic Conference men’s tennis teams will travel to Houston to compete in the championship. Each team sends two players to compete in singles and a doubles pair. Jacome and Minarik will compete individually in singles and as a tandem in doubles.

Teams are seeded by the AAC based on national rankings. The games will be scored in the traditional spring double game format.


Minarik is seeded ninth in singles and receives a bye in the first round. The shocker duo earned a bye as number 4 in doubles.


There will also be an official consolation bracket, with each player able to play at least two games in Houston.


The singles and doubles champion in each category will represent the American Athletic Conference at the 2024 ITA Conference Masters Championship November 7-10 in Rome, Georgia.
