Former FBI agent speaks about investigation into Suzanne Simpson’s disappearance

SAN ANTONIO – A former federal agent weighed in on the ongoing investigation into Suzanne Simpson’s disappearance, particularly in the wake of Brad Simpson’s arrest on domestic violence charges.

In recent weeks, investigators have searched multiple locations and properties, including a landfill in southeast Bexar County.

However, a retired special agent stressed that despite the fact that Suzanne has not yet been found, the investigation continues to move forward with crucial leads and evidence is still being pursued.

“[I] I think the investigation is progressing well. “I relate that in part to yesterday’s arrest,” said former FBI special agent Jennifer Coffindaffer. “That tells me they were looking, they knew a weapon was missing, I believe from photos that were taken, and they knew they had to find out where or who was responsible for hiding it . “They looked again at the digital information they had and there will be more.”

On Tuesday, an associate of Brad Simpson, James Valle Cotter, 65, was arrested and charged with tampering with and/or fabricating evidence. He is currently under house arrest on a $500,000 bond.

Brad Simpson remains incarcerated in the Bexar County Jail on a $2 million bond on a federal weapons charge.

He is charged with family violence, tampering with and/or falsifying physical evidence, and a weapons charge.
