Change announced for upcoming WWE Championship match

WWE

After an angle on television this week, a change has been made for an upcoming championship match in WWE.

NXT Halloween Havoc is scheduled to take place this weekend. A number of championship matches were announced for the show, including an NXT North American Championship rematch between Tony D’Angelo and Oba Femi.

D’Angelo scored the upset win over Oba Femi on the October 8 episode of NXT in St. Louis, ending Femi’s record reign as NXT North American Champion.

The following week, it was announced that D’Angelo and Femi would have a rematch for the title at Halloween Havoc, with the wheel revealing that it would be Tables, Ladders and Scares.

On last night’s episode of NXT, Femi eliminated Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Luca Crusifino of the D’Angelo Family, resulting in a change to the upcoming match at Halloween Havoc.

Go to TwitterNXT General Manager Ava announced that D’Angelo had requested that the match now be decided by pinfall instead of the title, which is traditional for TLC matches.

She wrote:

@TonyDangeloWWE called for this Sunday’s North American Championship Table, Ladders and Scares match at Halloween Havoc to be decided by pinfall – using tables, ladders and chairs that are legal to use as weapons.

After tonight’s events and Oba’s actions… the request is granted! ‍

Adriana Rizzo was also found attacked backstage at last night’s show, which appeared to be the work of Nikkita Lyons, who had a brief episode with Oba Femi later that evening.
