4 arrested after shooting in Meriden

MERIDEN, CT (WFSB) – Police arrested several people for illegal firearm possession following a shooting Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of ​​308 Crown Street around 2:15 p.m

When they arrived, they discovered several bullet casings.

Shortly thereafter, at 2:30 p.m., a gunshot victim arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening wound to his arm.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., authorities located a suspect’s vehicle on Orange Street.

Four passengers fled the scene of the accident and crashed into a police patrol car in their attempt to escape.

After a short foot chase, officers arrested all four suspects, three of whom were found to be in possession of illegal firearms.

The weapons seized included a stolen firearm, a ghost gun without a serial number and another firearm with an erased serial number.

Two of these weapons were equipped with extended magazines.

Several of the suspects have been involved in firearm-related incidents in the past.
