Former Bison football player back in court

Former Bison football player back in court

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The former NDSU Bison football player accused of firing a gun at a house party last month was back in court Wednesday.

Jaiden Pickett, 19, is charged with terrorism, reckless endangerment and two counts of possession of a stolen firearm. All of these charges are Class C felonies.

Pickett is being held in the Cass County Jail on a $50,000 bond. At his Oct. 23 arraignment hearing, his attorney attempted to have his bond reduced, but the judge denied that request.

Pickett is due back in court on November 4th.

NDSU dismissed the second-year linebacker from the football program following his arrest on Sunday, Sept. 8. NDSU athletics director Matt Larsen and head coach Tim Polasek issued the following joint statement.

“Being a student-athlete at NDSU is a privilege that comes with the expectation of representing the team and university in a positive manner while being a responsible member of our community. After learning the facts surrounding Jaiden’s arrest, we have concluded that he has violated our Student-Athlete Code of Conduct and will no longer be a member of the Bison football program. We appreciate the Fargo Police Department’s work on this matter.”
